Nous voulons faire réussir Firefox 4 pour le monde libre
Le navigateur web Firefox est un logiciel libre emblématique. Médiatique même. Très connu et très utilisé du grand public. Notamment parce qu'il est présent sur de nombreux types de matériel et de systèmes : GNU-Linux, Mac OS, Windows, les téléphones portables, les ultra-portables, etc. C'est ce qui nous fait affirmer que Firefox est un des fers de lance des logiciels libres, un baromètre de leur succès.
En outre Firefox est aussi très important pour l'écosystème des logiciels libres car c'est un point d'entrée des logiciels libres sur les systèmes fermés, comme Windows, Mac OS, etc. Firefox réalise cette pénétration :
- en remplaçant le développement et le déploiement de logiciels sur les postes des utilisateurs par le développement de sites web basés sur des formats et des standards ouverts
- en rajoutant des comportements spécifiques aux besoins de chacun avec son mécanisme d'extension
Mais le succès de Firefox tel que nous avons commencé à y être habitués commence à être menacé. Et la sortie de Firefox 4 arrive dans un contexte très concurrentiel où tous les paramètres sont en évolution : la forte percée du récent navigateur Google Chrome, la montée des téléphones portables et autres systèmes mobiles ainsi que le processus de normalisation et de déploiement du nouveau standard HTML 5.
Il faut aussi voir la sortie de Firefox 4 comme une compétition avec Google Chrome. On pourrait penser les enjeux de cette course au navigateur le plus adopté uniquement suivant les points de vue des performances, de l'ergonomie, et de la présence ou l'absence de tel ou tel gadget. Et être tenté d'utiliser Google Chrome parce qu'on est attiré par un détail.
Ce serait une erreur.
Car Firefox 4 est un logiciel libre qui se base sur des services loyaux, et qui est développé par la fondation Mozilla suivant un manifeste en lequel nous avons confiance. Ce qui n'est évidemment pas le cas de Google Chrome. Que Google Chrome ait un avatar libre, Chromium, n'en fait pas un logiciel libre et ne met pas à niveau en ce qui concerne les autres points non plus.
C'est pourquoi l'AFUL lance un appel pour l'adoption massive de Firefox 4 : c'est aux utilisateurs de gagner leur liberté sur le web. Il faut montrer nos choix, montrer que nous voulons contrôler nos données personnelles, notre vie privée, en utilisant des navigateurs libres de confiance.

The big parade

Social aspect of the Festival of Street Musicians
The festival organization is directed by a collective of individuals, associations and organizations outside of the musical act to help street people.
The festival will bring a certain sum of money that will be used to conduct operations along the lines of the host associations of the festival.
With the money resulting from that event the amount of profits will be divided as follows.
A total of 50 000 € will be preserved for the organization's second festival.

The remaining profits will be used to provide 30,000 meals to homeless people, which is a continuation of the work of the Chobe and especially the manufacture of 100 studios for street people to be made available to municipalities that provide the ground for install them.

Organization and Rehearsals
